Malware Bytes is pretty awesome and in conjunction with Windows Defender has worked wonderfully for me for a long time. I own a lifetime premium license so that saves me from the subscription costs as well.

I also use Malwarebytes and Comodo.
Best anti-virus: Brain!
Use Linux and your brain, you won't need a anti-virus.
Have tried many free over the years. Am currently using Avira and am satisfied.
After looking at the poll results, I'm gonna give Kaspersky a try
I'm using a good adblocker, to block most things that might harm. i'm not against extra software but as a quite expierenced user i know what to do and what i shoulden't be doing
This is how to do it, a normal user shouldnt get virus's unless they clicked something they shouldnt and an adblocker and no script plugin will save you from all that. that being said having a virus scanner installed even if its disabled on your computer is always good just in case.
fail all that ...
EDIT: my fav virus scanner for windows is clamwin its opensource and doesnt run in the background collecting your data ;]Originally Posted by 03OG

My Preference is Avast and Kaspersky
I am currently using Eset Internet Security.
Started using as my last AV was using to much CPU and I found Eset wasn't at the time.

In my opinion Symantec Endpoint Protection.
I am using SEP from several years. It is free as well as complete protection
