AMD quietly outs the FX-6330 Black Edition six-core processor

AMD has come up with a new FX-series processor for consumers in the Asia Pacific region, the FX-6330 Black Edition.

The FX-6330 Black Edition is a six-core processor based on the 32nm Vishera architecture and replaces the FX-6300 processor launched almost three years back. It is clocked at 3.60 GHz and supports maximum TurboCore frequency of up to 4.20 GHz.

The processor includes 6MB of L2 and 8MB of L3 cache. It supports dual-channel DDR3-1866 memory modules and is built for the AM3+ socket.
Primarily targeted at the lower-end segment, the processor is available for around $110 in China.

Compared to the Intel Core i3 dual-core chips that are available for around the same price, the AMD FX-6330 Black Edition does hold an advantage when it comes to performance. However, it isn’t the most efficient chip out there with a 95W TDP rating.
