The development team at Firaxis has promised to deliver a new major patch for XCOM 2, and the studio has now introduced a set of changes and improvements to the turn-based strategy title, promising an end to many if not all of the performance issues that some fans have been complaining about since launch.

The idea is to allow those who are familiar with the core elements of XCOM 2 to play at a higher pace, which should make it easier for them to explore the various gameplay options that it has to offer.
Firaxis is adding, "After installing the patch, we recommend all players to go into the graphics tab under options and select 'Auto Detect Graphic Settings.' Installing the patch will not rewrite your graphic settings. Players must do this manually."
In order to make sure that mods work with the new patch, gamers will have to start the game once, close it and start it again, which will ensure that the changes are initialized to work with the community-made content.
Firaxis claims that most mods should work well with the update, but some might need to be updated in turn.
