The schedule for Tokyo Game Show 2021 has been revealed, featuring a star-studded roster of publishers like Xbox and Square Enix. The four-day showcase is one of Japan's biggest gaming and geek culture conventions and often takes place in the Makuhari Messe Center in Chiba every fall.

As with almost every gaming industry event held last year, Tokyo Game Show 2020 was online-only due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the planned live event was canceled for safety reasons. The many games shown off at TGS 2020 included Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity, Monster Hunter Rise, and Resident Evil Village. Since then, glimpses at what 2021 and beyond will hold were given during E3 2021 in June and the recently concluded Gamescom 2021, both of which had several high-profile reveals and closer looks at titles like Halo Infinite and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.

The program schedule for Tokyo Game Show 2021 has been posted on the event’s official website, listing up to 44 different programs that will be streamed across various video platforms between Thursday, September 30 and Sunday, October 3. Many of these slots are currently unfilled, but among the publishers confirmed for this year’s Tokyo Game Show are Xbox, which will host a stream on the first day of the weekend-long convention; Capcom, which will appear that same day; and both Square Enix and Sega will be present on Day 2.

While some of the games set to appear at this year’s Tokyo Game Show are already listed on the event’s schedule, neither Xbox nor Square Enix have revealed what titles they will be showing off during their panels. Xbox fans will likely get another look at Halo Infinite ahead of its December launch, and it will have a lot to prove after delaying major features Forge and campaign beyond release. As for Square Enix, while it’s been confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 won’t be at TGS 2021, other titles like Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy and a previously teased Mana sequel could make appearances.

Tokyo Game Show 2021 looks to be a packed event filled with big-name publishers, and there’s no telling what kind of surprises will be awaiting viewers throughout the four-day convention. Publishers like Xbox and Square Enix will show what have in store for 2022 when Tokyo Game Show 2021 streams from September 30 to October 3.
