Microsoft has formally announced the Xbox One Media Remote, one week after it was outed by retailers.

The accessory enables users to control Blu-ray playback and video streaming on the console, as well as TV/Receiver power and volume through Kinect.
Coming to all Xbox One territories early next month, the device features dedicated Back and OneGuide buttons, with the latter providing instant access to the user's favourite content.

Motion-activated backlit buttons are included on the rear of the Xbox One Media Remote for easier use under low-lit conditions.

The Xbox One Media Remote will be priced at $24.99 in the US, with previous reports suggesting it will cost £19.99 in the UK.

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced plans to launch its Xbox One Stereo Headset and Headset Adapter in March.
