2K Sports has just released a brand new video, showcasing the face scanning technology and character customization options available in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions of the upcoming WWE 2K15.

The wrestling video game will include the option to upload your face and plaster it over your own custom athlete, but only owners of the newest generation of home consoles will be able to take advantage of the feature.

In order to avoid the issues encountered with NBA 2K15's face scanning technique, developers Yuke's and Visual Concepts chose to adopt a different process, one that requires that users possess some knowledge of image editing software, for obtaining the best results.

However, the best thing about it is that, although it is a tad more complicated than just looking at a camera sideways, the process in WWE 2K15 also enables you to scan and upload pretty much everything to the WWE Community Creations server.

WWE 2K15 lets you scan and upload your own images

That means that you can use any image you'd like and place it anywhere on your upcoming superstar's body. Thus, aside from a custom face, you can also give your athlete a custom tattoo, or place some custom logos in your warrior's costume.

Granted, you do have to make sure that the images look pretty snazzy, but the end results are definitely worth it, as can easily be seen in the video below. However, you need to work a little bit to accomplish that, as you're essentially sticking a transparent decal over the in-game 3D model of an athlete, a feat which may require some trial and error.

This is yet another exciting feature

The WWE series has been known to allow its fans to customize their athletes to their hearts' content, and WWE 2K15 does not disappoint on this front, enabling gamers to get their in-game look just right, something that definitely comes in handy, considering that the enhanced MyCareer Mode is surely going to be extremely popular with fans of the wrestling video game series.

The MyCareer Mode is what most of the fans were waiting for for quite a while, enabling them to create their own superstar and take it from boot camp to the top ranks of WrestleMania, and possibly even to the WWE Hall of Fame.

WWE 2K15 was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms at the end of October, and the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions are coming out on November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe.
