It’s back! Yep, that’s right, Bigben and Kylotonn have today confirmed another WRC game, and it is WRC 8 that is on the cards.

Announced today, WRC 8 will be the next game in the WRC series of rally racers, seeing the legendary franchise return after a 2 year break. Arriving on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, the plan is for Bigben and Kylotonn to release the racer in September 2019.

As you may expect, WRC 8 should well be the best WRC game yet, and after taking feedback and ideas from the community and the ongoing eSports WRC Championship, Kylotonn are found to be improving many aspects of the rally series.

This will see better visuals, more technical routes, smoother pace notes and a much more comprehensive career mode, as WRC 8 prepares to go above and beyond WRC 7 – especially in the steering requirements and the realistic physics of the vehicles.

If you don’t believe it, then you may well like to watch the very first WRC 8 video below, as it showcases the pre-season tests of a Ford Fiesta World Rally Car at Rallye Monte-Carlo and the brand-new Rally Turkey.

In WRC 8, you will get the opportunity to choose your driver from the official teams of the 2019 season. This will see the return of Sébastien Ogier (6 times World Champion) from Citroën Racing, accompanied by Esapekka Lappi, while Toyota will try to defend its 2018 manufacturers’ title with Jari-Matti Latvala, Kris Meeke and Ott Tänak. 2019 is also marked by the return of the nine-time World Champion and WRC legend, Sébastien Loeb, driving this year for Hyundai Motorsport in support of Thierry Neuville, Andreas Mikkelsen and Dani Sordo. M-Sport Ford, will rely on Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninento draw attention again.

But it’s not just about the big guns and WRC 8 will also offer a selection of WRC 2 and Junior WRC drivers, as well as historic models which will be revealed shortly.

Whoever and however you decide to play WRC 8 though, you can be sure that talent and concentration will be needed to overcome more than the 100 special stages taking place in 14 countries. Upgrading your car to unprecedented new levels of detail will also be required, if only so you can develop your team in an in-depth and intense career mode.
