The worlds of Halo and Minecraft come together tomorrow

Microsoft announced today that various Halo items--including weapons, characters, and worlds--are coming to Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition tomorrow as part of the Halo mash-up pack on Xbox Live. You can buy the pack tomorrow, May 28, for $3.99/€3.79/£2.69.

Developed by 4J Studios, the Halo mash-up pack includes a Halo-themed texture set, themed menus and user interface, craftable items, and 31 music tracks from across the Halo universe. There's also 40 character skins for well-known figures like Master Chief, Cortana, Sergeant Johnson, and the Arbiter. The Halo mash-up pack also includes pre-made worlds like the Silent Cartographer, Sandtrap, Valhalla, Blackout, Guardian, and Blood Gulch.

Today's official announcement of the Halo mash-up pack for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition comes after Microsoft teased earlier this month that some Halo content would be coming to the game. Other mash-up packs available for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition include bundles for franchises like Spider-Man and Mass Effect.

Minecraft for Xbox One launches in August and "most" of your previously downloaded content will carry forward to the new version. You can upgrade from the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft to the Xbox One version for $5, so long as you do so within the first year.
