The Creative Assembly and SEGA have already officially revealed the existence of a new Total War title focused on the Warhammer fantasy and the two companies are using the E3 2015 PC focused press conference to talk a little more about the core elements that underpin it.

Unfortunately the development team is not yet ready to offer a full look at the gameplay of the title and has instead offered a video which celebrates the history of the franchise and features a brief teaser for the coming title.

Total War: Warhammer will show off its first full gameplay clip at some point in July.

In the meantime gamers will be happy to know that the company is finding ways to make sure that the strategy experience remains balanced despite the fact that battles will mix both human troops and very powerful fantasy creatures.

The Creative Assembly has also thoroughly explored the tabletop Warhammer universe and has chosen a wide array of heroes for all the included factions, which will be represented as both generals and champions.

For the latter category, players will be able to see them take part in battles if the conditions are right and a wide array of skills can be explored for each of them.
Total War: Warhammer will feature aerial units, magic use

Working with a fantasy universe presents a unique set of challenges for a team who is best known for working with historical situations.

The Creative Assembly says that it will create a new type of map for Total War: Warhammer in order to make sure that they can accommodate flying creatures and the various other fantasy units that can move quickly around the battlefield.

Special mechanics will make magic important but limited, ensuring that there's no way for a player to dominate an entire battle without using too many physical troops.

Limited information about the strategic layer of the title has been offered so far, but each race will apparently have its own unique mechanics when it comes to city development and army recruitment.

Total War: Warhammer will be only offered on the PC and does not yet have an official launch date.
