StarCraft II’s New Patch Will Not Support Previous Replays

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void is due November 10, 2015. While the new patch to be released, has a lot of exciting big changes to the interface but (there’s always a but) comes the bad news that replays made before the patch will not be supported. Yes, you will not be able to view any of the previous replays of players after patch 3.0 goes live. This is really tragic to the players, especially those, who downloaded replay files of pro players and used their strategies to polish their skills. After this announcement, some sites have even started to collect the best of the replays.

Traysent stated that the patch 3.0 was about to be released and the replays made before this patch won’t be supported anymore, only the newly created replays will be supported on the future versions of the game. He added, saying that the new patch brought a new and improved interface and a chat window enlisting all active chat channels.

The reason that the old replays will not be supported is the fact that a new file format to compress and store games, which seems to not entertain old replays.
