Videogame developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are continuing to reveal new modes that will be part of the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront, with the new Supremacy experience designed to offer fast-paced and engaging combat situations.

Players will need to work as a team in order to dominate five control points that are spread across the map, with the ultimate objective being to take control of all of them or as many as possible during a ten-minute round.

DICE explains in the official announcement that, in Supremacy, the match starts with each team owning two of the control points and combat is only over once the one in the center is conquered, and once this is determined a set order is used for every round.

Dennis Brannvall, the lead level designer, states that "When you spawn into Supremacy, you don’t have to move far to see a lot of friends - and enemies. You’re thrown into a massive frontline, where your screen is filled with adversaries: infantry, Heroes, Walkers, and starfighters. You can prepare for very heavy and focused Star Wars action."

The design of the new mode forces gamers to constantly be on either the defensive or the offensive, using every tool they have to get another control point.

DICE explains that all the vehicles in Star Wars: Battlefront will be featured, including TIE fighters and X-Wings, while the heroes of both factions will be able to use their power to turn the tide of engagements.

Supremacy is focused on big maps

DICE says that the biggest environments in Star Wars: Battlefront will be used for the mode, and there are plenty of similarities to Conquest from the Battlefield series.

The team says that camping will be less effective and that gamers will always be close to the action and able to quickly do something that's exciting and can contribute to victory for their team.

It seems that the new mode will be offered on all the planets that are featured in Star Wars: Battlefront.

DICE has more modes that it plans to reveal before the shooter is launched.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be out on November 17 on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and at the start of December gamers will also get access to the Battle of Jakku downloadable content for it.
