Gamers will get a range of localized content

The team at Sony in charge of the PlayStation 4 home console is once again showing off the device in China and announces that gamers in the Communist country will soon get access to it, with full plans for the launch set to be announced at a later date.

During the Sony Expo, the leadership of the company allowed visitors to get hands on time with the new platform and with the Vita handheld and offered demos of titles like LittleBigPLanet, Destiny and DriveClub, which are designed to show off its capabilities.

Ka Hirai, the leader of Sony, is quoted by NeoGAF as having said that China is the third largest market for the company at the moment, after the United States and Japan, and that it has the potential to become even more important in the coming years.

Andrew House, the leader of the PlayStation division, has reiterated that the new device is very successful in the rest of the world and that the Chinese launch will include localized versions of the biggest releases.

At the same time, the most talented game developers in the country are encouraged to work with the company in order to create unique gaming experiences.

Initially, the announcement that the PlayStation 4 was coming to China was made earlier in the year by partner company Shanghai Oriental Pearl, but this is the first time that Sony talks directly about it and tells fans that a full launch plan will soon be announced.

The PlayStation 4 is winning the current generation console battle

At the moment, the PlayStation 4 is holding a solid lead over the Xbox One from Microsoft, which was recently revealed to have shipped just 2.4 million units to stores during the last quarter.

Sony says that it plans to continue to deliver more functionality to its device, creating the kind of experiences that gamers want to see and trying to deliver them as fast as possible.

Moreover, the company is aiming to release both AAA titles and indie games for its platform and might have a few bundle surprises set to be revealed in time for Christmas.

There are some rumors that the Xbox One might get a 50 dollar or Euro price cut in time for the holidays, and apparently Sony is not yet ready to match it in order to make its own platform cheaper in the long term.
