Shooters yet to release in 2015

2015 still has some fight left in it, and we’ve already spoken about open-world games yet to release. Now, let’s take a quick look at some of the shooters coming out towards the end of the year.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Developer Treyarch is back at the helm of this year’s Call of Duty game, even though it looks awfully similar to last year’s Advanced Warfare. That being said, Treyarch has always managed to churn out interesting campaigns, and this time, it’s adding four-player co-op to the mix. Besides the campaign, expect fast-paced multiplayer as well as a hectic Zombies mode that packs in its own separate campaign.

Destiny: The Taken King Expansion (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox360)

The most ambitious Destiny DLC yet, The Taken King will offer returning players new story-based missions, weapons, quests, an increased level cap, cooperative strikes, new enemies, and a six-man raid, among other features. PlayStation owners purchasing this DLC will receive exclusive content in the form of a strike and unique gear.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

A spiritual replacement of sorts to the now cancelled Rainbow Six: Patriots, Siege is a tactical first-person-only shooter, where players must partake in a tense game of cat and mouse while civilian lives hang in the balance. One of the game’s most touted features is its in-game destruction, an impressive feature that seeks to rival (and maybe surpass) the destruction found in the Battlefield series.

    Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)

The first new Halo title for current-gen platforms, Halo 5: Guardians will debut on the Xbox One in glorious 60 FPS. The game is being developed by 343 Industries and will be a direct sequel to Halo 4. Like its predecessors, Guardians will allow players to tackle the campaign solo or co-operatively (split-screen, unfortunately, has been axed from the equation), after which they can jump online for some multiplayer mayhem.

Star Wars: Battlefront (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Star Wars: Battlefront marks the return of the Battlefront series with Battlefield developer DICE at the helm. If you haven’t played a Battlefront game before, it’s essentially a shooter set in the Star Wars universe, offering players large-scale multiplayer battles, where players can seamlessly switch between both first and third-person perspectives. Plus you get to play as iconic Star Wars characters, so there’s that.
