Announced in March, Quantum Error is one of the first horror games making its way to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, bringing a mix of intense action and creepy sci-fi scares. Initial reactions to the game have been positive, with players apparently ready to dive into its unnerving setting to discover what mysteries lie behind its terrifying monsters.

If prospective fans needed any more reason to dig into Quantum Error, the game has just received a new trailer featuring what appears to be one of the story's antagonistic forces. Taking place within the game's research facility setting, the camera lingers on a mysterious pillar-like object, jarringly cutting between some cryptic imagery of a large red orb.

Before long the pillar opens, revealing a spherical robot that turns to the camera and says, "Hello Jacob." The trailer has an uncanny vibe, with it becoming clear that whatever this robot is, it's probably up to no good. With fans not knowing much about Quantum Error's story as of yet, this could be their first look at the game's antagonist, with the robot's introduction indicating it's not going to be aiding the player throughout their journey.

Through this trailer and previous gameplay shown for Quantum Error, the game is shaping up to be a creepy experience with some solid action thrown in. With the title set to launch at some point next year, fans should keep their eyes peeled for updates from TeamKill Media regarding the new horror project.

Quantum Error will launch in late 2021 for PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
