Rockstar Games have allegedly confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in the works and that they’ve “got some ideas” for it. Well, I f*cking hope so.

Obviously, we’re taking this with a pinch of salt at the moment, and we’re already pretty sure they mentioned this after the release of GTA V anyway, but things seem to be bubbling on social media at the minute and with the forward momentum they have coming into 2015 we won’t be surprised if things begin to surface.

New reports suggest that Rockstar have over “45 years worth of ideas” for Grand Theft Auto 6 and the company have already started development on the next instalment.

Rockstar Games’ President, Leslie Benzies has been reportedly quoted as saying:

"We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas. It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question.

Then that defines the missions; you’re doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in."

There’s probably still a lot Rockstar can and will squeeze out of GTA V (and a lot of stuff that needs fixing, if I’m be honest), and that’s before mentioning anything about the PC version. So my guess is that GTA VI will be with us in 2017.

So between now and then it’s pretty much going to be a minefield of rumours, leaks and news going viral. Personally, that’s the best bit about a Rockstar release. Embrace it people.
