Rise of the Tomb Raider game director Brian Horton has left Crystal Dynamics to join Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward as studio art director.

"After working on two amazing games, my family and I have decided to return to Southern California and start a new adventure," wrote Horton on Tumblr. An update to Horton's LinkedIn page spotted by Charlie Intel revealed that "new adventure" is his position at Infinity Ward.

During his time at Crystal Dynamics, Horton also worked as senior art director on the studio's 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.

Infinity Ward is expected to be working on the next Call of Duty game, as the last two entries in the series were developed by Treyarch and Sledgehammer. Infinity Ward most recently worked on 2013's Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Meanwhile, Rise of the Tomb Raider -- which has sold over one million copies to date -- is coming to PC on January 28 and PlayStation 4 later this year. Lara Croft's latest adventure is currently available on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
