Red Dead Redemption has officially shipped over 14 million copies, according to Take-Two.

The figure was revealed in a shareholder outreach presentation and marks a small leap from the 13 million figure we last heard. This appears to refer to the base game, as Undead Nightmare seems to be included in a follow-up bullet point that reads "commercially successful expansion content".

Though a sequel to the critically-acclaimed western has yet to be announced, the evidence has mounted in recent months. There's the fact 2K has referred to it as a "permanent franchise", along with a mysterious project in the works at developer Rockstar San Diego - who made the original game - that calls for experience with dynamic multiplayer.

According to one specific listing for an animation programmer, this upcoming project will make its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as both platforms are specifically mentioned in the ad.

For now it looks like we'll have to wait and see. Though no HD remaster has been announced, Xbox One owners could be in luck - the game is consistently in the top three titles Microsoft is being badgered about providing backwards compatibility for.
