The hype surrounding Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to grow as its PS4 and Xbox One release date gets closer, and now the game's protagonist, Arthur Morgan, is getting a shout out from an unlikely corner of the Wild West. Techland Games, which developed Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, has published a video with the game's main characters Silas Greaves addressing Morgan.

"The Old West is full of legends. And you, Arthur Morgan, soon will be one of the greatest, I'm sure," Greaves says in the video above. "Because legends, you know, never die. They change to come back stronger than ever."

It's unclear what the bigger meaning of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger's video is, as no new Call of Juarez game has been announced and the video appears to piggyback on the hype of Red Dead Redemption 2. Before the video was released, the tease began on Call of Juarez: Gunslinger's Facebook page, which hadn't been updated in over five years. The game's Facebook page added a banner of Silas Greaves with the tagline "Legends never die." Another image on the page showed Greaves standing over the same canyon seen in the video with the quote, "I haven't been here in many years. Name's Silas Greaves."

This year, Techland bought back bought back the rights to Call of Juarez from Ubisoft. The company hasn't said anything about bringing the series back to life, but this latest messaging suggests the possibility of a remaster of Gunslinger being announced soon. Gunslinger was the fourth entry in the series, preceded by Call of Juarez, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, and Call of Juarez: The Cartel (which was the only game in the series to take place in modern times).

Red Dead Redemption 2, on the other hand, launches on October 26 and is expected to be one of the year's biggest releases, with sales projections of more than 15 million copies. GameSpot recently got to play through the first five hours of the game and experience its vast open-world; for more details you can check out GameSpot's first impressions of Red Dead Redemption 2.
