Sales for Nintendo's various amiibo figures stand at over 7 million units in the United States. The numbers came as part of today's NPD Group report.

Originally reported by VentureBeat, Nintendo also saw a 30 percent increase in sales for 3DS, while Splatoon has sold 600,000 copies, once again in the US alone.


The next wave of amiibo are scheduled to go on sale tomorrow. Anticipating the huge demand for Nintendo's super-collectible figures, Amazon has blocked out certain times to sell certain amiibo.

Recently Yacht Club Games officially announced it was releasing a Shovel Knight amiibo, marking the first such toy to be created for the Nintendo platform by a company other than Nintendo itself.

The simple, NFC-enabled figures are not only crazy desirable among Nintendo fans, they're really difficult to cut in half. In fact, we did just that, snipping a Kirby amiibo into two halves in the name of science.

That's a heck of a lot of amiibos... Probably more than they have sold in Wii U systems world wide.

I actually just pre-ordered my first with Yosh Wooly World. Sorry I am a sucker for that cute adorable Dinosaur.

There's a lot of scalping that goes on with Nintendo's limited releases now... I wanted to upgrade my 3DS but I'm holding out for a Fire Emblem release of the new one, when they make that new Fire Emblem game, but the special edition new 3DSs sell out within a few days of being announced. Also the big and small versions deal is heartbreaking to me - I want faceplates but they only sell the big new 3DS in my country.

I feel like they sold for more of a collector's reason out side of actually using them in games like smash
