The night before the release of Halo 5: Guardians, some members of the Xbox team as well as a few developers from 343 Industries gathered for a livestream event to celebrate the game. At one point, Xbox head Phil Spencer showed up and announced some non-Halo news. The backwards compatibility feature introduced at E3, as well as the new Xbox One Experience, has a set release date of November 12.

Xbox introduced the so-called New Xbox One Experience back in September, which will not only change the home screen, but also make various processes easier such as sharing content, playing with friends, and dealing with notifications. Various improvements were also added on the entertainment side by keeping users abreast of current hit TV shows through OneGuide and upgrading the overall digital Store page.

On any other day, a brand new UI is an exciting change, but backwards compatibility easily takes the cake. The list of Xbox 360 games playable on the Xbox One continues to grow, with the latest notable addition being Criterion Games' Burnout Paradise. The popular, open-world racing game came out in 2008, and fans will be able to relive the nostalgia seven years later.
