Hitman Absolution was a game that received mostly good review scores upon its release. But, IO Interactive, developers of the series may have an announcement waiting according to a post on the Hitman forums. The post goes to mention that, there will be a blog entry going up at the end of this month with more details and info about the game if this forum post by an IO employee is to be believed. Further more, IO Interactive had released an open letter to fans a while ago assuring them that they are working on the next sequel of the game for PC and next-gen consoles. In the letter, they reveal some details like the contract mode that will give you the ability to create and experiment with large levels and possibilities within them. Some of the things outlined in the letter are:

“The game concentrates on the core Hitman fantasy of using a wide range of tools to take out a diverse group of targets across expansive, exotic locations around the world. We are building this game on the backbone of the Glacier 2 engine, using the best parts and what we have learnt through Hitman: Absolution and drawing inspiration from past titles like Contracts and Blood Money to fulfil the core Hitman fantasy.”
They have also outlined that they “removed 47’s magic pockets”. Magic pockets were a substitute for the briefcase in previous Hitman games that had gamers up in arms about it. It may come as glad tidings to many to know that IO Interactive is actually listening to their fans. While there may be no other media elements of this new unannounced sequel, we may get a better glimpse at it as E3 continues to press on. In any ways, we are more than excited to hop into the shoes of Agent 47 and trot around the globe as a professional assassin.
