A brand new patch for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is going to be available for download later today, November 20, on the Xbox One consoles, finally bringing fixes for various matchmaking and user interface issues, not to mention the different gameplay glitches encountered by players in certain campaigns like Halo 1 or Halo 2.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is one of the biggest Xbox One exclusives of the year, and considering how the franchise enjoys the love of millions of fans from around the world, a lot of people bought the impressive package that includes remastered editions of Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Unfortunately for them, it seems that the game wasn't exactly ready for its debut, as plenty of issues concerning the matchmaking system and its actual gameplay were reported by Xbox One owners from around the world.

Developer 343 Industries quickly rolled out a few patches but none has had that big of an impact on the actual online system, as players still encountered problems when trying to play with others.
The next big update launches later today

Now, after a brief delay, the next big update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is set to go live later today, November 20, in the afternoon, according to the official announcement on Halo Waypoint.

The studio emphasizes that a wide array of problems relating to the matchmaking, the user interface, as well as the gameplay of the actual titles included in the collection have been fixed.

"This particular content update addresses matchmaking performance, UI, gameplay, and title-specific issues. We are on track for a release of mid-late afternoon Pacific Time for this content update, and will immediately let you know when it is available. As a note, many of the below issues are sub issues that were caused by larger umbrella problems that we have addressed with this update," the studio explains.
Lots of matchmaking improvements are coming

Among the actual improvements made to the matchmaking system are fixes for the searching or connecting stages of the process, not to mention enhancements to various situations, like those in which people are voting for a player to kick. The stability of the matchmaking lobby has also been improved, as has been the accuracy and stability of the Game Session Details user interface.

Besides these enhancements, the user interface has been improved as well, while gameplay glitches from Halo 1, Halo 2, as well as Halo 2's Anniversary mode have been eliminated.
