BAFTA Games is currently asking gamers to vote for the World Cup of Games and Cory Barlog puts forth several hilarious reasons why people should vote for God of War over The Last of Us. God of War was BAFTA's Game of the Year in 2019, whereas The Last of Us achieved that title when it released back in 2014. The vote is being held on Twitter now.

God of War has not only won many awards, but the game completely changed the franchise. God of War moved the setting from the usual Greek mythology to a new location centered around Norse mythology instead. The game also was centered around Kratos and his young son Artreus, which is why many fans have drawn comparisons between it and The Last of Us. The Last of Us also famously features a plot line centered around a gruff older man with a shady past and a snarky child that depends on him. The Last of Us has proved so popular that there is even an HBO series being made about the game.

The BAFTA World Cup of Games has entered its final championship round after a almost a week. The competition began with the the last 12 winners of BAFTA's Game of Year and pitted them against each other to see who came out on top. The list includes games like the aforementioned God of War and The Last of Us, but also Super Mario Galaxy, Bioshock, and Portal 2. Now that the finals are here God of War director Cory Barlog has decided to start throwing out funny reasons why gamers should vote for his game.

Almost all of Barlog's statements are ridiculous and wildly untrue, like stating that God of War is better because it used more teraflops. Many of his tweets became joking attacks at Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann by saying that he washes delicates on the towel cycle or that he hacked an easy mode into Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. In the middle of these jokes though Barlog does take the time to very nicely compliment both Naughty Dog and The Last of Us, and even states that he knows God of War will lose to the apocalyptic zombie title.

These online competitions are a way for gamers to feel like they have a say in which games win. With the internet though it has now paved way for developers like Barlog to use their platform in a hilarious way. At the end of the day though it truly doesn't matter which game wins. Both The Last of Us and God of War will have a special place in the gaming world regardless.
