Secretlab’s latest gaming chair features the king of the skies from Monster Hunter, Rathalos. The de facto mascot of Monster Hunter, Rathalos has been in every game in the series to date as the uncontested face of the series.

But Monster Hunter isn’t the only game that Rathalos has been featured in. The flying wyvern has also been in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as both an assist trophy and a stage boss. He has also been featured in games like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker as a boss, and he was also the main threat in the recent Monster Hunter movie. All of that has made Rathalos Monster Hunter's most iconic monster, and fans of the character now have a new way to show their love for the scaly character.

Now, Rathalos will be featured front-and-center on a newly unveiled gaming chair from specialty manufacturer Secretlab. This chair, dubbed the "fiery throne atop the forest," was made in collaboration with Capcom and sports the Rathalos’s symbol on the back and front of the chair. Not only that, the sides of the chair feature the wyvern's accented scales that further stylize the chair with a Monster Hunter flair. The chair also sports full-metal 4D armrests, a proprietary pebble seat base, and adaptable lumbar support. According to the store page, it is scheduled to ship by December 22 or earlier and is now available to purchase from $449.

Secretlab is known for making a wide variety of gaming chairs that range in terms of style, but their comfort doesn't differ so wildly between chairs. Interestingly, the Monster Hunter collab is just one of several that Secretlab has done. These special edition chairs often go beyond the realm of gaming, as Game of Thrones and the Mortal Kombat movie also got Secretlab chairs. Across all Secretlab chairs, the priority seems to have remained on maintaining their comfort, and being able to slap well-stitched logos for superfans of popular media is just a fun plus.

There are many types of gaming chairs that cater to fashion and function, but the Rathalos-adorned upholstery may be the deciding factor for PC players waiting for Monster Hunter Rise to leave Nintendo Switch. A new gaming chair with the iconic monster’s insignia on the front and back could be one way to gear up for the release of Monster Hunter Rise on the PC. Ironically, players can also hunt Rathalos himself in Monster Hunter Rise while sitting on a Rathalos-styled chair, which in a way rings true to Monster Hunter’s gameplay loop of hunting monsters and using their materials to create something new.
