A DIY HOBBYIST has successfully squished Microsoft's cut-down Xbox One S into a portable laptop format.

The so-called 'Xbook One S' is pretty removed from a laptop in terms of size and weight, and it's been downgraded from a 22in 1080p to a 19in 720p screen in order to keep the dimensions down from the original 'Xbook One', which contained the intestines of the Xbox One.

Modder Edward Zarick explained that the downgrade was a result of the original mod's 22in screen taking away some of the portability he had hoped for with the 'Xbook One'.

"You want to be able to take it on airplanes with you and travel with it, road trips, or on tour buses," he said.

While this might make PS4 acolytes automatically sneer ('Arf! The Xbox One doesn't need 1080p anyway ‘cos all its games are 900p at best' etc etc) it is indeed a rather crummy reduction in scope that makes an already fairly pointless exercise even less useful.

There's still 4K HD out, though, in case you wanted to further reduce the point of the thing and plug it straight back into a TV.

"The entire Xbox One S is inside," Zarick confirmed, so don't be afraid of any of those new, supposedly slightly faster, system enhancements being missing.

Anyway, if you do fancy one for your tour bus, club, private jet or limo, it's made from acrylic parts with some 3D printing, and costs $1,495 for a 500GB model (nothing like enough space, in our opinion) or $1,545 for a 1TB model.

If you can see a reason why.
