Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories skipped the PC when it came out in 2005. The spinoff game was only available on the PlayStation Portable and eventually the PlayStation 2. However, a team of modders has ported all the game content to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Liberty City Stories centers on the adventures of Antonio Cipriani and is set in 1998, during Toni’s rise to leadership in the crime family. The mod introduces all the game’s content into the PC version of San Andreas, and now the modders – who call themselves the Royal Game Army Ranger Studio – says version 1.0 is ready to download.

Dark Side of Gaming reports that the mod project was cancelled in 2008, only to resume ten years later. The studio says the mod will still see regular updates and patches even after the launch of version 1.0 and beyond.

Liberty City Stories returned GTA to its original locale, but added the ability to drive motorcycles in addition to cars. It also added an increased number of interior environments over GTA III.

Here’s how it looks in action on PC.

To download the game, head over to the ModDB page and download Liberty City Stories PC Edition 1.0 Build 1. If you run into issues, DSO Gaming recommends using the most recent beta build, version 7.49, which you can find on the same page. Naturally, you’ll need to have San Andreas installed first.
