Quantum Break is the first big title that Microsoft is publishing in 2016 and the company is saying that based on pre-order numbers, it could have a major hit on its hands, which could prove to be a foundation for a bigger franchise.

Aaron Greenberg, the head of marketing at the company, tells a podcast that he has been surprised by the interest shown by players and that, “It’s been great. Preorders are really strong; they’re performing well ahead of plan. Retailers are continuing to increase their orders for the game, which we track and watch.”
The executive also says he wants to hear as much feedback as possible from fans of the game so that both Microsoft and remedy can learn from the launch process, which is taking place at the same time on the Xbox One and Windows 10 on April 5.
Quantum Break tells the story of a time manipulation event gone wrong and puts players in charge of a survivor who gains the ability to use time-based powers in order to set things right.
The unique nature of the game derives from the associated television show, which will tackle the same events from the perspective of the villain and will offer extra context for the choices that gamers will be asked to make.
The episodes can be either streamed or downloaded directly and weigh in at 75 GB, which might be a problem for those who lack a very solid Internet connection.
Quantum Break is a sign of future Microsoft policy Plenty of fans of the Xbox One voiced their disapproval when the company revealed that the Remedy title was being offered at the same time on two platforms and might even look better on PCs that run Windows 10.
But Microsoft has made it pretty clear that it wants to integrate the two devices when it comes to gaming, announcing recently that all future Forza titles will be launched on both, starting with the unnamed installment with a cover that features the Lamborghini Centenario.
Phil Spencer also made it clear that gaming on Windows 10 will get some improvements, linked to the coming Anniversary edition, but he also said that there are currently no plans to deliver Halo 5 or gears of War 4 on the platform.
Remedy has said that Quantum Break is the most complex project it has worked on so far and that it hopes as many gamers as possible enjoy it.
