Although Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO games are annual staples that sometimes release two, or even three, at a time, so far the 2015 slate has been mostly a mystery. Given what we know about WB and TT Games, it was safe to assume new games were in development, but the lack of talk suggested some big announcements were right around the corner. We just didn’t expect they would be this big.

This week, TT Games and WB Interactive Entertainment announced a full slate of LEGO releases for 2015, including major retail releases LEGO Jurassic World and LEGO Marvel’s Avengers. Both games will draw heavily from their respective franchises, featuring classic moments from all films up to and including the new summer entries.

First up is LEGO Jurassic World, which releases in June on current-gen and last-gen platforms. Although the game is titled Jurassic World, WB promises that the game will follow the storylines of all JP feature films, from Steven Spielberg’s classic all the way to the reboot. We can’t wait to play as a minifig version of Jeff Goldblum.

Then in fall 2015 LEGO Marvel’s Avengers will hit, delivering experiences based on the billion-dollar 2012 film and its 2015 follow-up, Age of Ultron. The press release also teases “more,” so it’s possible that this adventure will see Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye doing more than just battling the Chitauri and Ultron. However, we wouldn’t expect the game to be as diverse in its line-up as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, which featured nearly every Marvel comic character under the sun.

There were some other smaller announcements included with the release, like LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin, The LEGO Movie Videogame for mobile, and LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham for mobile. But obviously the two marquee reveals are that of LEGO Jurassic World and LEGO Marvel’s Avengers.

After each release we inevitably started to wonder where TT Games could go next, and thus far they have not disappointed on the franchise selection front. It’s true that some games have been more successful than others, but Jurassic World and Marvel’s Avengers sound like solid properties to draw from. We’ll wait and see if we’re right later this year.

Which game are you more excited for? What properties should TT Games tackle in 2016?
