Soon you'll be able to try the HTC Vive VR headset at GameStop and Microsoft stores.

The device will first be available to demo at Microsoft's flagship stores in New York, Bellvue Square in Washington, and City Creek Center in Utah.

In April Microsoft will have up to 30 locations open to Vive demo stations. At about the same time GameStop will open similar kiosks at 10 of its stores.

The full list of locations will eventually be available on the HTC Vive official website.

Demo stations will sport "more than 120 titles that are available now on Steam," while participating stores will allow customers to "place reservations for June orders directly with retailers."

The Vive is itself the result of a partnership between HTC and software creator Valve, hence the connection to the developer's digital storefront, Steam.

The headset, which uses positional tracking to create "room-scale" experiences, began shipping reservations this earlier this week. Unfortunately, since then, many HTC Vive shipments have been delayed.
