The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft announce that the long-awaited May update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection is now live for all players, designed to introduce a range of tweaks to the shooter while also adding more content for the community to explore.

All those who own the title will get a prompt to download the patch as soon as they log in again, according to Halo Waypoint.

343 Industries is adding the remade Remnant map for Halo 2: Anniversary, as promised, and gamers can also experience the story from ODST on the Xbox One for the first time.

Search via Gamertags is also enabled for Halo: The Master Chief Collection and files share is also open for all users.

100 new Achievements for the title are also included.

343 Industries is making good on its promise to listen to the player community when it comes to the best ways of improving Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The focus for the May update is on stability, improved handling of ranking and better support for player-made parties.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will continue to be updated all through the year

It is likely that 343 Industries and Microsoft will continue to offer support for the title because it represents the best way for players to experience the history of the Halo franchise on the Xbox One.

When Halo 5: Guardians is launched in late October a lot of new fans will be interested to relieve the older campaigns, and they will turn to Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

With the launch of ODST and the remade Remnant, it's unlikely that any new content will be added to the shooter, but there's still plenty to tweak when it comes to the mechanics and the playlists that are included.

Halo 5: Guardians is the big exclusive for the Xbox One in 2015 and is designed to focus on a story that will include both Master Chief and Agent Locke.

At the moment story elements are being introduced via the Hunt the Truth and Hunt the Signal promotional campaigns, and more narrative details will be offered at E3 2015.
