Video game developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they are planning to introduce a new season of the popular Hunt the Truth series for Halo 5: Guardians in the fall of this year, just before the shooter is actually launched.

The company says that the first run of the podcast has managed to generate no less than 5.5 listening sessions with its 13 episodes and has given the two companies a cool way to expand the lore associated with the Master Chief story.

The series stars a journalist named Benjamin Giraud, played by Keegan-Michael Key, as he works to find out more about the mystery behind the character.

He uncovers a vast conspiracy which involves ONI and other elements and the end suggests that the second season of Hunt the Truth will have another protagonist.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to be launched only on the Xbox One on October 27 of this year, with a special edition offers access one week early.

Microsoft has been working hard to deliver other media projects associated with the series, including a new Halo: Fall of Reach animated series and a set of novels that offers more information about some key characters and events.
