The team at video game developer 343 Industries is aiming to make the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians a major contender in the world of eSports, and after the Invitational tournament that it ran during Gamescom 2015, the studio has already made a number of tweaks to the core gameplay mechanics.

The official Halo Waypoint site explains that the four teams that took part in the competition in Cologne, Germany, had limited time with the game prior to their matches but did offer a wide range of important feedback to the company.

343 Industries states, "The broadcast, production, and video teams are taking learnings from the show as we gear up for the presentation of Halo 5 esports at the Halo World Championship and beyond. For the multiplayer and sandbox teams, they’re currently evaluating things like Overshield timing and strength, weapon respawns time (both power weapon and non-default weapons), overall sandbox tuning, and more."

Halo 5: Guardians is preparing a massive World Championship

During the winter of this year, the competition will deliver an occasion for the best players in the world to show off their skills in a tournament that will offer prizes of 1 million dollars (900,000 Euro).

343 Industries and Microsoft are adding a special set of features to Halo 5: Guardians to make sure that it is easy for gamers to watch matches.

The multiplayer experience in the shooter is built around a re-designed set of abilities for the Spartans, who are more mobile than in previous installments in the series.

343 Industries is also introducing a range of new modes in which gamers can express their skills, including the massive Warzone, which combines both Player versus Player and Player versus Environment mechanics.

But the studio is creating a dedicated Arena experience that will be used in the World Championship as well.

Halo 5: Guardians will be offered only on the Xbox One on October 27.
