Iconic movie characters The Terminator and famed Halloween slasher Michael Myers were at one point considered for additional characters in Mortal Kombat X.

Creator Ed Boon said, "We've tossed around a whole bunch of names, like The Terminator, or something like that. And for various reasons – whether it wasn't a match, or we just couldn't come to terms with it – they didn't happen.

"We're always exploring a lot more than we actually end up doing. For instance: Michael Meyers from the Halloween franchise. We talked about that at one point but it just never kind of panned out."


Of course, Mortal Kombat X already has an impressive contingent of movie monsters as playable characters in Mortal Kombat X, including Jason Voorhees, the Predator, alongside the recently announced Xenomorph from Alien and Leatherface of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame.
