Although Grand Theft Auto 5‘s story mode is the main reason it was on so many Game of the Year lists in 2013, the Rockstar game has managed to build a pretty immersive online world as well. GTA Online launched full of bugs and missing features, but in the year since the game’s initial release the experience has come a long way. Even still, there are always a few cheaters around looking for an exploit that can ruin the fun for everyone.

With the GTA5’s long-delayed port to PC finally out, a whole new crowd of gamers are experiencing GTA Online for the first time. As with any new platform experience for an online game, some new exploits and cheats are bound to pop up. The developer has found some pretty great ways of dealing with exploiters in the past, including blowing up their (in-game) cars, but sometimes it’s up to the community to defend its own citizens.

YouTuber Pluxar found himself in a Los Santos that was being tormented by a player using a godmode hack, making him totally unkillable. Not willing to stand for the cheater’s antics, Pluxar pulled a well-armored vehicle and some rockets out of the garage and set out to even the score. As you can see in the video, the hacker learns his lesson.

Although the hacker was unkillable, Pluxar manages to torture him by repeatedly running him over and pushing him around. The vehicular trolling continues until the cheater manages to get a kill, but Pluxar returns with a vengeance. Pluxar goes right back to hunting down the hacker and lands a few well-placed rockets until the cheater exits the session.

We expect to see Rockstar patch in a fix for the exploit, but until then it’s good to know that there are gamers out there attempting to maintain the balance. These kind of exploits are a little harder to control with a PC version, but the developer has definitely had plenty of experience patching GTA Online after the many problems with the console version.

Although the GTA Online PC community may occasionally be tortured by some hackers who are keen-eyed enough to spot exploits, the new version does open the wonderful world of mods to GTA5 fans. We’ve already seen playable animal characters roaming Los Santos and some unexpected weather and we expect the creativity to continue throughout the game’s lifecycle.
