Fans of Google Stadia will soon have another exclusive title to play, as Lost Words: Beyond the Page has been announced as a timed one-year Stadia exclusive. Google's Stadia streaming service has struggled to grow in popularity since its original release last year, and a lack of quality exclusive titles as well as an underwhelming games library has done little to entice new users to sign up. Having just opened up the Stadia service to more mobile devices, as well as the recent announcement that Rainbow Six Siege is also coming to Stadia, Google is clearly hoping to turn this trend around.

Stadia had its share of supporters when the program first launched, but a lack of consistent feedback from Google and a number of missing features upon Stadia's initial release left many feeling like they had made an unwise purchase. Although Google has reiterated that they remain dedicated to supporting Stadia, many players remember how Google has easily eliminated features and projects it felt wasn't performing up to expectations in the past, and some are worried Stadia could be cancelled if more players don't jump in and try it out.

Now, thanks to a recent press release from Modus Games, players know Lost Words: Beyond the Page will be launching exclusively on Google Stadia for a full year starting March 27, 2020, before it becomes available on consoles and PC. As the winner of multiple indie game awards, including Most Original, Best Family Game, and Best Story, Lost Words: Beyond the Page is a perfect choice to add to Stadia's catalog, and will hopefully prove interesting enough to bring new players to the program. In addition to the beautiful Lost Words: Beyond the Page, Modus Games is also bringing their titles Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break and Cris Tales to the Google Stadia. Cris Tales is a beautifully animated RPG with an interesting time travel mechanic, and Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break is a competitive tower defense game with self-described "quirky, Monty Python-esque humor." Neither of these games will be exclusive to Stadia upon release, but will be available there in conjunction with their arrival on PC and consoles.

While it would be nice to see one of the larger AAA video game developers throw some support behind Google Stadia (just imagine what would happen if Rockstar suddenly announced the next GTA game was a Stadia exclusive) for now fans will have to be content with smaller, lesser-known titles like Lost Words: Beyond the Page and GYLT, Stadia's first exclusive game. Hopefully support for the service will continue to grow, otherwise early Google Stadia adopters may find themselves owners of yet another discontinued Google product.
