A PlayStation 4 bundle that includes God of War, The Last of Us Remastered, and Horizon: Zero Dawn may be the cream of the crop this holiday season, if a new report is to be believed. Sony has been on a roll this generation, with a number of must-have games arriving for its PlayStation 4 console since launch. To say it has been anything short of a success for the company would be an understatement, which is why fans are so excited for the newly announced PlayStation 5 which is set to arrive in Holiday 2020.

Before that happens, however, there's one more Holiday season to get through. Which means all eyes will be on the PS4 as a last-ditch effort to move units. Discounts on the hardware are likely to happen with all kinds of pre- and post-holiday sales periods expected at the end of this year; namely, Black Friday and Boxing Day. But even with discounted hardware, Sony faces a steep hill to climb when it comes to pushing hardware to masses that are likely to have already accepted or moved on from the PS4.

Still, it sounds as if Sony may have figured out a winning strategy if a new report from Twitter user Wario64 is anything to go by. According to the deal-sharing tipster, Sony will be going all out this holiday season with a new bundle that features The Last of Us Remastered, God of War, and Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition. The unit itself will allegedly be a PS4 Slim, which is currently cheaper than a PS4 Pro.

Wario64 didn't provide a price for this alleged bundle, but given his track record it seems like this could really be en route. Bundling some of the best games of the generation (and the last generation thanks to the inclusion of The Last of Us) is a great Hail Mary at appealing to gamers that have skipped the entire console generation so far. It's also a great idea since 2020 is currently set to welcome the last of the first-party games for PS4.

Titles like The Last of Us: Part II (which just got pushed back to May) and Ghost of Tsushima should make for one of the best swan songs in recent memory. If this new bundle doesn't work out for Sony, there are other initiatives like the Death Stranding PS4 console that comes with all sorts of unique trimmings–like a see-through yellow controller. It's likely that retailers like GameStop will be hoping for a better holiday sales season, though, so maybe hopefully these new PS4 systems will help.
