Ghost Recon Wildlands update Special Operations 4 is the last free update for Year 2 and includes the Guerrilla mode, a new class, and more.

Ubisoft's open-world shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands launched on PC, PS4, and Xbox One back in 2017 and has received a slew of updates since. Today, the developers have revealed the last free major update for the game's second year of support: Special Operation 4. It is available today and includes the new Guerrilla PvE mode, a new class, new maps, and some additional features based on the Ghost Recon: Wildlands community's feedback.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Guerrilla Mode ghost war
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is expanding its co-operative experiences with Guerilla mode, allowing up to four Ghost to team up and defend key locations against increasingly difficult waves of Cartel and Unidad enemies. With each completed wave, players purchase and upgrade new weapons, skills, and attachments with the resources gained from defeated enemies. Those looking for that competitive fix aren't left out in Special Operations 4, as the team is introducing the following additions to the Ghost War PvP mode:

One New PvP Class: The Sapper is a new Support class option that deploys a specialized drone that shoots "concussion" mines. These mines drain stamina from players and suppress them, slowing down their rush.
Two New PvP Maps.
Two New PvP Events:
Arms Race: Players spawn with only their pistols and are forced to explore the map for better weapons.
Danger Zone: Players are periodically bombed with ultrasonic blasts, forcing them to always be on the move.

In addition to these new elements being introduced, there are a handful of quality-of-life improvements coming from the Ubisoft team in the near future. Some in the works include a time-of-day setting for the solo campaign, a bleeding notification Ghost War, daily campaign challenges, and a new compass HUD option for PvE. Special Operations 4 also includes the Heatmap view, which shows players the most visited areas in the game.

The $29.99 Year 2 Pass for Ghost Recon: Wildlands includes seven-day early access to the new Sapper class in Ghost War and the exclusive Active Duty Pack. All other players will get access on March 6. Ghost Recon: Wildlands is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
