Games with Gold November Lineup Includes Volgarr the Viking, Red Faction, Viva Pinata

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Live Gold subscribers across the Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms will receive three vastly different titles for free during the month of November, as part of the Games with Gold program.

An Xbox Live Gold subscription is required by Microsoft to access quite a lot of features across both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One consoles, from online multiplayer to various other functions. For over a year now, the company has decided to sweeten the deal for its Gold subscribers and offered the Games with Gold program, which gives them two free games each month on Xbox 360, and since the beginning of the year, one free title for the Xbox One.

Games with Gold November lineup is now available

After some pretty solid titles in recent months, Microsoft has showcased the November lineup for its Games with Gold promotion, via the Xbox Wire.

The lineup is eclectic, to say the least, starting with Volgarr the Viking on the Xbox One and continuing with Red Faction: Guerrilla and Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise on the Xbox 360.
Volgarr the Viking goes free on Xbox One, but there's a catch

First up, Xbox One owners can enjoy the retro-themed Volgarr the Viking side-scrolling brawler, which puts players in the shoes of the main protagonist as he goes on all sorts of adventures against many enemies across various environments. Besides dodging and killing foes, players need to also avoid traps, find secrets, and enjoy the pixelated graphics as well as the retro soundtrack.

However, Volgarr the Viking will be available only in some territories. In other countries, more specifically Germany, Russia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil, Microsoft is going to offer Powerstar Golf for free, due to the lack of classification.

Xbox 360 fans get Viva Pinata and Red Faction: Guerrilla

On the Xbox 360, two vastly different games are going free next month. First up, there's Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise. The quirky game once again lets players take care of their own garden paradise, where they need to attract all sorts of pinatas while fighting against Professor Pester and his ruffians.

There's also a robust multiplayer mode, so you can have fun with friends.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is one of the most lauded entries in the series made by Volition and allows players to explore Mars and destroy practically everything in their wake thanks to the robust engine that powers the open world experience.

Volgarr the Viking is free from November 1 to November 30. Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is going free from November 1 to 15, while Red Faction: Guerrilla is entering its free slot between November 16 and 30.
