Stephen DiDuro, independent game developer at GalaxyTrail Games, has hinted at a possible PS Vita port of Freedom Planet, the company’s crowdfunded game recently released on Steam.

Via Twitter, a user asked DiDuro if there were any chances of Freedom Planet coming to the PS Vita, then complemented the game afterwards. DiDuro responded “Thank! Vita is one of our top picks for console ports, so, we’ll see!” The PS Vita has homed numerous critically-acclaimed indie games such as Spelunky, Thomas Was Alone, and Hotline Miami, with more on the way. If Freedom Planet is indeed ported to the PS Vita, than it will be in good company.

Originally funded on Kickstarter last February, Freedom Planet is a fast-paced 2D action game that draws inspiration from the Sonic the Hedgehog games on the Sega Genesis. The indie title is available on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux for $14.99. Below is the launch trailer for Freedom Planet.
