Forza Horizon 4 is “the fastest-selling game in the series,” according to the UK’s physical charts. The latest racing sandbox reached number three in this week’s charts, behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and FIFA 19, but is the series’ fastest-selling entry ever.

Those figures are perhaps slightly skewed by one major factor – Forza Horizon 4’s setting. While previous entries took the Horizon festival to Colorado, the Alps, and Australia, this time around, the action has headed to the UK, with a truncated version of England and Scotland providing the setting for the fourth game in the series.

The director of Xbox UK, Harvey Eagle, told Gamesindustry.biz that “we’re thrilled that Forza Horizon 4 has been so well received by gamers across the UK.” Eagle notes the game’s setting, as well as pointing out that it was developed by British studio Playground Games. He goes on to say that “Forza Horizon 4 is the fastest-ever selling game of the Forza Horizon series in the UK,” and that “we’re also seeing a huge uplift in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions and engagement.”

Further down the charts, Forza Motorsport 5 hit number 12 this week, thanks to its inclusion in an Xbox One bundle. Obviously these are only the figures for the UK’s physical market, but that comment about the Game Pass is particularly interesting, as Forza Horizon 4 was available via the subscription service not long after its release.

Fair warning, while it’ll probably help with those winding country lanes, dealing with regional UK accents is something you’ll need to get to grips with by yourself.
