What to get for the person who has everything? I don’t know, how about some Fortnite cosmetics? That’ll be possible soon, according to footage captured by a player who managed to get the system running in his game.

It seems that gifting will be arriving in Fortnite in the next week or so, and it’s a pretty simple system: in the shop, you’ll see a new button under the ‘purchase’ button, namely ‘Buy As A Gift.’ Once you select that, you’ll be able to pick a friend from your friends list to send it to, and then you’ll get the opportunity to add a personalized message.

Twitter user and streamer Jaren (@The1Jaren) managed to enable the gifting system in his copy of Fortnite, and he showed off a quick clip of what a purchase transaction will probably look like. He explained that the purchase and gifting buttons only work if you have sufficient V-bucks in your account (and that he had set the price of the dance he was buying to zero for the purposes of demonstration).

Forbes notes that in the clip, Fortnite is telling Jaren that his friends will receive their gift in eight more days, and if he captured the footage the same day he posted the tweet (October 13), that may mean that the gifting system is scheduled to go live October 21, or next Sunday.

Whenever it does go live, it’ll be another avenue for Epic use to keep Fortnite as the insanely profitable money juggernaut that it is.
