The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are announcing that a major new patch for their MMO The Elder Scrolls Online is now live on all game servers and is designed to introduce a range of new content for veterans to enjoy while also offering them access to a number of bug fixes and rebalances for some features.

The official announcement is very comprehensive and even those who have played the title since it was launched probably have some trouble tracking all the modifications made by the two companies.

They state, “we’ve added Veteran City of Ash, the continuation of the dungeon City of Ash, and implemented our improved facial animations so NPCs will look more realistic when you speak to them. We’ve also implemented the next phase of the Veteran Rank improvements, which you can read more about below.”

Another big change for The Elder Scrolls Online is the addition of scaling for both solo play and for cooperative dungeon action.

The change means that as the player goes more powerful, he will still be challenged if he returns to his favorite areas of the game, which is very good news for veterans who have played the MMO for a long time.

ZeniMax Online is also improving the crafting side of The Elder Scrolls Online in order to give gamers who want to create their own equipment more options in the long term, with an entirely new Dwemer style.

Big changes, no news on console launch for The Elder Scrolls Online

ZeniMax Online continues to rely on the community to deliver more information on which elements of the MMO are not working properly and more major updates are planned, even if one might not arrive before the end of 2014.

Elements like combat, exploration and character abilities remain in a constant state of evolution and gamers have a chance to use the test servers in order to deliver feedback and shape patches.

The experience is unique because it still asks gamers to pay a monthly fee in order to access the world and experience its story and mechanics.

ZeniMax Online says that it is still working on a version of The Elder Scrolls Online for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, although no news has been offered about them for a while.

Bethesda has said that the title was successful when it launched, but many believe that it will move to a free-to-play model before summer of next year.
