Game publisher Ubisoft has announced that it will be holding an event in July that will reveal some new games, and it seems highly likely it will showcase some next-gen titles, too. Ubisoft fans can tune in to this event on July 12th to see what the French company would have revealed during the cancelled E3 2020.

Ubisoft actually has many games in development right now that gamers have reason to be excited for. The recently announced Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has picked up a lot of steam in the last week. The newest addition to the long running series is set in the era of vikings and will be released on next-gen systems for sure. Ubisoft has also been working on a sequel to Watch Dogs 2 called Watch Dogs Legion. Not much is known about this title at the moment, but it seems like the game could be a first day launch title for both the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

In a Twitter post today Ubisoft announced that they would be holding an Ubisoft Forward event on July 12th. The company is holding this event in order to show fans and the media, "game news, reveals and more." This will be an entirely digital showcase that will most likely be taking the place of any events that Ubisoft had planned to hold during E3 2020. After that event was cancelled, it makes sense that the company would want to instead reveal things digitally instead.

Ubisoft has yet to announce what kinds of games and news they will be showcasing during Ubisoft Forward, but there are a few likely candidates. With both Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion being huge releases, it would be surprising if Ubisoft didn't reveal new details during the event. It has also been announced that the Division 2 and Rainbow Six Siege will be ported to next gen consoles, so it would make sense for Ubisoft to give a better idea of how that will work. There are also several games that Ubisoft hasn't even announced yet that might make an appearance during the event as well. It seems very likely that there will be information on next-gen games, too, given that July is very close to the targeted launch of both the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

With that said, it's important to note that even if Ubisoft only shows off Assassin's Creed Valhalla and other titles like Rainbow Six Siege Quarantine, the company will still be revealing PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X gameplay. What fans really want to see is if the company is ready to detail some of its next-gen plans that consumers don't already know - and just how they'll impact the future of the industry.
