Overkill's The Walking Dead game has been in development for a long time, but it now has a release date. During the PC Gaming Show at E3 2018, we learned the co-op shooter will finally launch for PC--and presumably PS4 and Xbox One--on November 6 in the Americas and November 8 internationally.

Along with the announcement, publisher 505 shared a new trailer for Overkill's The Walking Dead, which you can watch above. The video gives us our first look at gameplay, and it's suitably brutal; you can see lots of zombie dismemberment and an assortment of weapons, from guns to crossbows.

Unlike Telltale's iconic take on the Walking Dead series, Overkill's adaptation is a four-player cooperative shooter. It stars four playable characters: the doctor Maya; the fighter Aiden; the outdoorsman Grant; and the "hardened scout" Heather. Each character fulfills a different role, and players must work together to complete missions and survive the zombie apocalypse.

Overkill's The Walking Dead was first announced back in 2014. It was initially slated to launch in 2016 before being delayed into 2017. In May of that year, Overkill announced the game was postponed again to 2018 in order to give the developer more time to add "more content" to the game.
