The racing game is still suffering from problems

Driveclub developer Evolution Studios confirms that it's made several improvements to the online services of its PS4 racing game and that owners should now encounter way more events in the multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, there's still no word on the PS Plus edition.

Driveclub finally rolled out at the beginning of the month on the PS4 platform, delivering its racing experience after an almost one-year delay. Unfortunately for those who eagerly awaited the exclusive game, its online infrastructure, which was essential in the whole "social racing" experience, buckled under the pressure.

For quite a few weeks, the servers have been unable to let all players access the online mode, and while some improvements have been recorded, there still are issues.

More enhancements are on the way

In a new statement on the Driveclub Facebook page, developer Evolution confirms that more improvements are coming to the game's servers, but unfortunately, the process is a slow one. Fans should understand, according to the developer, that it's trying to get things operational as fast as possible.

"As more servers come online and regular server updates are rolling out we are steadily improving connectivity for everybody," the studio explains.

"Improving server performance is taking time, which is frustrating for all of us, but please understand that we are doing everything we can to get all aspects of online play up and running smoothly as quickly as possible."

New events are available to those who connect online

Evolution also confirms that, for players who manage to connect online and access the multiplayer features of the new PS4 experience, new events have been made available in addition to the existing ones.

"We've also made changes today in Multiplayer to ensure that there are more events available to you, and that you have more variety when you choose to race with and against other drivers online," the studio adds.

Lastly, Evolution reveals that it's going to keep players up to date with the online improvement process, but for now, no other things are available.

"We will keep you up to date as we improve server performance for all aspects of online play. Thank you again for your support while this work continues."

As of yet, it's unclear when Driveclub's servers will be fully operational and working as intended. Until everything is fine, Evolution isn't talking about the long-awaited Driveclub PS Plus edition, which was supposed to launch for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers right alongside the full game.
