Bethesda has announced the closed beta dates for Doom alongside releasing a new multiplayer trailer.

The closed beta will be running between March 31 and April 3. To see if you're eligible, visit the Doom beta website. Alternatively, if you pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order, you should be able to redeem your beta key.

Beta participants will be able to try out the Team Deathmatch and Warpath modes on two of the game's maps, Heatwave and Infernal.

The new trailer above shows off some of the fast-paced multiplayer action, as well as a look at some brand new transformations that can occur when you pick up a Demon Rune - or kill someone else using a Demon Rune. The big guy seems to be a Baron of Hell, who packs some nasty melee moves, while the more slender beast appears to be a new design for the Arch-vile, who can attack at speed with its claws. It looks as though the weight-challenged Mancubus is in there too, based on that final shot.

Doom is due for release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May 13. Last week id Software asked fans to vote on the artwork for the inside of the box cover.
