Valve has released a new update for the Steam client, and it looks like they are finally preparing for a new stable update.

Valve has a habit of pushing numerous small updates for Steam, and after enough of them pile up, a new stable version is made available. Developers have been pushing Beta updates almost on a daily basis during the past week, and they are getting smaller and smaller. That stable edition can't be too far.
According to the changelog, an option has been added in the settings to display the download speeds in bits per second, dynamic MTU discovery has been implemented, support for a network performance test from the Steam Link has been added, and a regression that was causing a black screen with some network routers has been fixed.
Also, the VR feature icons are now shown in the library details, warnings are now shown in the library details if the user's controllers or play area does not match the requirements of the game, and some text corruption with some languages has been repaired for the Linux platform.
The Steam client has recently received support for Vulkan, but that's also in the Beta branch, which means that they really need to get the client in a stable state. If you want all of these features, you will need to subscribe to the Beta program, from Preferences.
