If you missed out on Diablo 3’s retro event, Darkening of Tristram, the last time it was available, you have another chance this year.

The Darkening of Tristram is a Diablo 3 event that first went live in January 2017. The limited-time event was always meant to be an annual affair, and it has now returned.

Darkening of Tristram recreates the entirety of the first Diablo as a dungeon in Diablo 3, complete will all bosses and iconic locations such as the Cathedral in the town of Tristram.

What’s more, playing those levels is done in what Blizzard calls retro vision, which is a collection of filters that make the game look like it came out in 90s, creating a close approximation of how the original Diablo looked back in the day. This includes a pixelated graphics filter, as well as audio filter and some retro-themed loot.

Many of these rewards can only be earned by completing the event. Of note are the transmogrification skins for Butcher’s cleaver – the classic one.

The Darkening of Tristram is live all the way until January 30. If this is your first time venturing into the past, check the link above or see official event details to learn more.
