Indie developer Satoru Noda has recreated a launch of NASA’s Saturn V space rocket in virtual reality (VR). The developer has released the experience onto the offical Oculus VR Share Beta for free. It is available on both PC and Mac with no mention of a possible Linux release. It comes will full support for the Oculus Rift VR headset.

The Saturn V demo is a simple experience that allows players to walk around the outside of the rocket itself before launching it. Players can tour the surrounding environment and take a look at the faithfully recreated model before picking a point that they would like to stand from and view the rocket’s launch by pressing the left mouse button.

The project is just one of a number to recently hit the Oculus Share Beta, including the 1 – 1 VR roller coaster simulation Helix – The Next Level and MMOFPS GalaGunOnline. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, bringing you the latest.
