Video game developer Bungie is saying that it plans to deliver three major live streaming events for the coming The Taken King expansion for Destiny, which is designed to give players more information about the content that will be added.

The Weekly Update states, "The information you crave will come straight from the mouths of the creators during an on-site inspection of their creations, and we’ll do it live! We’re planning a series of broadcasts to brief you on the rising Taken threat and show you what you’ll need to know to survive the next evolution."

On August 19 at 11 AM Pacific Daylight Time, gamers will be able to see executive producer Mark Noseworthy and senior design lead Tyson Green talking about the second year of Destiny and about the way characters will be evolving using the new mechanics.

On August 26 at the same hour, design lead James Tsai will be offering more information about the dreadnought that gamers will be able to explore and the way boss battles will be tweaked in The Taken King.

September 2 will allow the development team, including designer Ben Wommack and Luke Smith to talk about patrols, public events, Guardian cooperation and the battle against Oryx.

The Taken King will change the core nature of Destiny

Bungie is changing the way character progression will work, offering a bigger focus on classic experiences for all Guardians and making Light Levels less important.

The Ghost voice will be provided by Nolan North from now on, rather than by Peter Dinklage.

The expansion is designed to introduce a major new threat, the boss Oryx, who is coming back to the solar system to take out players who killed Crota.

There are three new subclasses to choose from and more strikes for gamers to complete as they search for bigger rewards.

Bungie is also delivering a 2.0 update for Destiny that will tweak some of the core mechanics, balance the weaponry, both classic and exotic, and will fix some of the issues the community has been reporting.

The Taken King will be offered on September 15 on all platforms and Bungie has secured a deal with Sony, which means that PlayStation gamers will get access to some exclusive content.
